Thanks for sharing. You may have noticed I didn't include Cardinal Tolentino in my list, even though he has sometimes been mentioned. This is just my opinion, but he sounds like he would be fun to hang out with, but I'm just not sure he has the experience they would look for in the next pope. What do you consider his strengths?
He was more of an aspirational pick on my part, mainly due to his poetic soul, as Francis referred to him as the church’s poet! And wouldn’t it have been great to have a poet as pope! However, I’m glad you profiled the now Leo XIV! Building on Leo XIII is also exciting.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and it's fun you made some predictions! My husband's top pick is Turkson, and Aveline is on my top-three list.
At the end of the day I know theres a lot I don't know. So I am content to pray for the Cardinals as they do their job, and trust in God's mercy and goodness for His people.
Wow, I am glad there is someone else out there who thinks Turkson has a chance! Like I said in the article, I really haven't seen the Vatican journalists discussing him, so I felt like I was going out on a limb. But thanks for sharing!
I appreciate the balanced & comprehensive review as well as the geographical & unity focused domains for your analysis.
Also in the spirit of fun, I predict José Tolentino de Mendonça.
