This is the most insightful piece I have read about Pope Leo's time in Peru. Thank you for all your work. My only recommendation, if you are interested, is that it was hard to follow the timeline of things in the piece. I don't know if the best framing is pre-Prevost, during Prevost, post-Prevost--but I feel like the narrative was hard to follow. Nonetheless, this is such an excellent piece!

Sarah, I'm glad you enjoyed the article! As far as the narrative flow, yes, I think going back and forth between what was going on in Prevost's life and what was going on in Peru in general was a little choppy, especially since it didn't perfectly line up. It would have been easier if he had been a major player in those events, I think, but I was just trying to describe what he would have witnessed and experienced.
