“Authentic experiences of the divine are much less quantifiable.” - Prof. Holman ... I really appreciate the contemporary application of Chenu’s work. Excellent conversation.
I was fascinated by the connection of Chenu to the worker-priests. As a permanent deacon whose contemporary roots come from a concern of German priests in Dachau about not responding as a church to Nazism, I find parallels in the concerns. I also appreciated your remarks on "clericalism" regarding the worker priests. (The permanent diaconate is extremely clericalized in many places.) I too look forward to hearing and reading more from Mary Kate Holman.
So that’s so great to know that this text is finally coming out in translation. And thanks for giving airtime to Chenu: such a fascinating figure that is unjustly neglected.
Yes, I am looking forward to the translation coming out, too. But I am glad to get the chance to promote Chenu, he's a figure that I at turns find fascinating and very helpful, but also frustrating.
